Photograph showing Captain (John) Geoffrey Bruce (1896-1972), English soldier and climber, wearing his climbing kit, Everest, 1922. During the Everest Expedition of 1922 Geoffrey Bruce and George Finch reached an altitude of 27,250 feet; then the highest anyone had climbed on Mount Everest.
