Captain Robert Falcon Scott (1868 - 1912), British Polar explorer, pictured with Petty Officer Edgar Evans, one of the four men who accompanied Scott on his ill-fated expedition to reach the South Pole in 1912. Evans was the first to die on February 17th 1912, suffering a concussion after a fall.
