Types of Britain's women armies - Land lasses, Town toilers and Sea Sirens. Three types of women during the First World War depicted rather romantically in silhouette. The top row shows land girls of the Women's Land Army, the middle shows women in various employment in town from window cleaners to munitions workers. The bottom shows a group of girls in bathing suits at the seaside.
