A mounter at work in the Cartier workshop on the second floor of the firm's New Bond Street headquarters in London. The mounter uses tweezers to place gemstones on the brooch. On the left is the model of the brooch in clay for his guidance, on the right are the diamonds, set out in wax in the design in which they will be used.
