Details |
Cartoon showing the perceived problems of professionalism in football. In the main series of images, two football club directors haggle over the value of a player who performs a number of feats in front of them. The price wavers between 50 and 1000 pounds, before concluding on £75 with the comment 'Very well. If I don't like him I can always sell him'. In the image at bottom right, an auction takes place for a player, under a banner proclaiming: 'Weekly sales of the Finest footballers. Complete Teams supplied at short notice'.
