Cartoon, Jonathan's Latest - 'Shade of Columbus (aside): "Had I foreseen it would have come to this - Caramba! - I would never have discovered America!" A tall man with a scraggly beard and hat, wearing striped trousers and a shirt covered in stars (representing America), holds a gun and reaches towards a box labelled 'Flor de Cuba'. A shorter man wearing a Spanish outfit clutches the box as he leans away from the man. Columbus as a ghost stands in the background looking on. A satirical comment on American intervention in the Cuban War for Independence.
