Cartoon, The Confidence Trick! Stafford Northcote (Chancellor of the Exchequer) and Benjamin Disraeli (Prime Minister) ask John Bull for six million pounds to strengthen their hands at a forthcoming international conference, to show the European Powers that they possessed the confidence of the country. John Bull looks doubtful.
