Details |
Cartoon, The Hero and The Saint -- Giuseppe Garibaldi, Italian revolutionary, fights against the unhealthy influence of religious superstition, as he orders a Catholic monk to step off the edge of a cliff. The hope is for greater freedom for Italy in the future, and a more positive, modern outlook, without reliance on holy relics and con tricks such as the supposed Blood of St Januarius and Ye Winking Picture.
