Cartoon, The Pound and the Shilling -- "Whoever thought of meeting you here?" Visiting the Great Exhibition at the Crystal Palace enabled a substantial amount of social mixing between the classes - here the well-dressed and dainty rich meet a working man in smock and stocking cap and his poorly-attired children.
