Cartoon, The Reform Janus -- a satirical comment on Lord John Russell's ideas for political reform, in which he attempts to keep both parties happy. He tells John Bright (Liberal) that it will double his constituency, and reassures Lord Derby (Conservative) that it will only add one per cent to the franchise. The result was, that nobody was happy, and Russell's Reform Bill failed.
