Cartoon, William Cox and Benjamin Box -- a satirical comment on the political rivals, William Gladstone and Benjamin Disraeli. The reference is to an operetta by Burnand and Sullivan, based on a farce. Gladstone had a good majority in parliament at the time, which made Disraeli somewhat powerless in Opposition.
