Description | Cartoon, women offering to do men's jobs, WW1 |
Details |
Cartoon on the subject of women offering to do men's jobs during the First World War. This particular cartoon, and accompanying article, are clearly not in favour of the idea, suggesting that those devious women want to steal men's jobs and even get the vote as well! Many women did, in fact, do essential war work while the men were away fighting, and the vote was conceded in early 1918.
