Description | Cecil Aldin in his studio |
Details |
Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935), sporting artist, illustrator and Master of the South Berkshire Foxhounds. Known particularly for his pictures of animals, especially dogs, he is pictured in his studio in front of a canvas (uncharacteristic of his style in many ways). The photograph was to illustrate an article about the expansion of his talents into toy designing. In 1903, he designed a range of wooden animal rockers which were manufactured by the Chiswick Art Workers' Guild at Bedford Park.
