The first Football League match between two teams from the southern half of England. Two years after their founding, Chelsea FC play host to Woolwich Arsenal in front of over 60,000 spectators at Stamford Bridge, and win 2 - 1. On the left, the two captains, WIndridge and Sands, shake hands. On the right, the Chelsea goalkeeper makes a save.
