Saturiwa, sovereign of over thirty Mocama villages, shows French explorer Laudonniere and two of his soldiers, a monument erected to his compatriot Ribault after he was killed by Spanish conquistadors. A small plinth with the French Fleur-de-Lys coat of arms engraved on it is surrounded by baskets of food and grain, as well as gourds and a wrapped quiver of arrows with a bow.
