A fete for children in Victoria Park, East London, in celebration of the Coronation of King Edward VII on 24 June 1902. Entertainment was provided by a number of music hall stars who dressed up for a comic clown's cricket match. While the fete was underway, the news came that the king was ill with appendicitis.
