Details

Christabel Pankhurst (1880 - 1958), British suffragette, in Montmartre, Paris, after being forced to leave London for fear of arrest. The caption describes Miss Pankhurst's position as a political prisoner in France which gives her immunity from extradition, and Mr Asquith's reaction to the discovery of her presence as having "taken to the hills" of Dornock, Scotland.
