Christmas tree, also described as a Tree of Love, by The Illustrated London News, erected on the stage at the Temperance Hall by the London Mission Society who were giving a Christmas celebration for 400 children. The ILN discusses the tree in detail, describing how it was traditional in Germany and hung with fruit and presents.
