Description | Composers and publishers of Tipperary, WW1 |
Details |
The makers of "It's a Long, Long Way to Tipperary" - Harry Williams, part-composer and author; Mr Bert Feldman, the publisher and Jack Judge, part-composer and author (seen from left to right). The song was universally popular among British soldiers at the front and in training during the First World War. At the date of publication of this photograph, the song, which had struggled to find a publisher and audience before the war, had sold two million copies in Great Britain and nearly three million in the United States.
