Three outfits by Courreges from 1961. From left (1) coat of double-sided cloth (tan reversing to white) featuring chopped off sleeves, horizontal welt seaming, dropped shoulder line. The brimless hat is of black kid. (2) Heavy black and white houndstooth wool tweed suit belted with fine black calf. The body of the jacket is cut on the bias and set into a deep yoke cut on the straight of the material. The skirt is slightly gathered at the waist and tapers towards the hemline. The hat is of black calfskin. (3) Two-piece dress in heavy oatmeal jersey, the skirt with a long slim front panel. The top, loose at the back, fitted in front, is cut away to reveal a bow of brown suede.
