Reconnaissance photograph showing the widespread flood devastation in the Ruhr Valley at Frondenberg-Bosperde, 13 miles from the Moehne Dam which was breached by the so-called 'Dambusters' raid in May 1943. Millions of tons of water swept through the valley causing devastation to industry and agriculture, and the complete dislocation of river and canal traffic in what was a vital area.
