Page from The Sphere memorial number published at the time of the death of King Edward VII, showing the King on his death bed in the top photograph, and below, the coffin containing his body lying in state in the throne room of Buckingham Palace. The coffin was covered in the same pall used for Queen Victoria, and placed at the head was the Crown of England and at the foot, the orb and sceptre.
