The fight with the Admiral Graf Spee: factors in a classic example of naval battle tactics pictorially explained. Elements that played a part in the defeat of the ship by three British cruisers, two of them small. manoeuvres employed by light vessels in out-fighting a superior one; the use of smoke screens at sea; comparisons of the relative strength of the combatants; and other factors in the action.
