Don Bradman going out to bat, during his last first-class cricket match; a game between Bradman's XI and L. Hassett's XI, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, December 1948. Bradman, characteristically, scored a century. In a career of over 20 years, Don Bradman scored 27,984 first-class runs at an average of 95.5 for New South Wales and South Australia. His test batting average of 99.94 in 80 innings is unlikely ever to be equalled.
