A selection of fashions worn at the wedding and a (pre-wedding evening reception) of Princess Margaret to Anthony Armstrong Jones on 6 May 1960. From left, the Hon. Iris Peake, the Princess's lady-in-waiting wearing a white chine silk dress printed with a motif of black leaves, caught lightly at the waist with a patent leather belt - by Victor Stiebel. The cap of yellow petals, trimmed with a black velvet rose is by Jenny Fischer. Middle left: the Countess of Drogheda in a magnificent coat of peacock blue wild silk with ranch mink collar worn over a chine silk dress printed with huge blue and smoke grey roses - again, by Victor Stiebel. Her hat of ruched blue veiled chenille is by Simone Mirman. Next, the Duchess of Fife wears a silk paper taffeta dress with an abstract pattern of lupins by Ronald Paterson with a high turban of swathed blue tulle by Jenny Fischer. Right page, left pic - the Hon. Francis Legh in a fashionable, above-the-ankle evening dress of printed floral ottaman silk by Mattli and on the right, Mrs Frank Mackenzie Ross in a striking ball dress of green satin with lavish gold passementerie and paillette embroidery by Worth.
