A new exhibition centre for London. Earl's Court exhibition centre in the midst of construction showing the main hall of the vast building. At the time of its erection in 1937, it was the largest reinforced concrete structure in Europe containing 108,000 tons of concrete, 10,000 tons of steel and covering an area of just over 9 acres. The total cost of the build was ú1,250,000. At the time of writing (2012) plans are afoot to demolish the building and build residential housing on the site.
