Details |
A photograph of Edward (Teddy) Peter Huskinson (1877-1940), editor of The Tatler from 1908 to 1940. His career began as a political cartoonist of the Conservative party before he became a journalist. He was a director of the Illustrated London News Group (of which The Tatler was part) and described in his obituary as 'a first-class cricketer, a keen yachtsman and a popular member of the Bath Club.' He was tragically killed in 1941 after becoming trapped between a train and platform at Savernake Station during a black-out. Pictured here wearing fancy dress in The Sketch with his wife (and an unidentified other) after the Midnight Ball in July 1914, although the magazine calls him Edward Huskisson.
