Details

The race for raiding: Problems of bombing for Briton and Boche'. Top, a comparison with a British bomber and a Gotha heavy German bomber. This diagram here shows that it is not straight forward to drop a bomb, you have to consider the trajectory, what the wind, speed and height are. The increase in accuracy to a certain excent neutralised by the rising height to which 'Archibalds' were forcing raiders, made more possible errors.
