Description Electric light at the Houses of Parliament
Details

Two engravings from 1873 showing Zenobe Gramme's electric light shining from Big Ben and the electric apparatus in the clock-tower. The light was generated by a small dynamo placed 300 metres away in the basement of the House of Lords.
