Miss Elizabeth Ponsonby (later the Hon. Mrs Dennis Pelly), one of the Bright Young Things of the 1920s, and daughter of Arthur Ponsonby a senior minister in the Labour government. Pictured in The Tatler in 1924 looking very studious reading a book, far from her usual image as a party girl!
