Details

Elsie Janis (March 16, 1889 – February 26, 1956), American singer, songwriter, actress, and screenwriter. Entertaining the troops during World War I immortalized her as "the sweetheart of the AEF" (American Expeditionary Force). Pictured in July 1914 when she was one of the main attractions in the popular revue at the Palace Theatre, The Passing Show. The show continued to play during the First World War.
