The artist Ethel Walker at her Buckinghamshire cottage. She is seen here in her kitchen cooking at the stove, flanked by her paintings which lean by the doorway.. Ethel was bombed out of her Chelsea studio in 1940 and after this date lived in extreme simplicity at her workman's cottage in Cholesbury.
