'Eve wishes to tell you she has been recuperating at Brightonski, doing what she can for the wounded.' Eve, gossip columnist for The Tatler magazine (and drawn by Annie Fish) goes for a paddle on Brighton beach, much to the delight of some wounded soldiers nearby. Brighton was a major centre for convalescent men during the First World War.
