Eve, the fictional gossip columnist of The Tatler magazine, lectures Lord Rhondda, the Food Controller during the latter part of the First World War, on the fact that his economy campaign, 'has made no allowances for the perversity of human nature.' She goes on to say that telling people to save or eat less will only make people think about food more!
