Execution of a female Communard, believed to be a 'Petroleuse', at the Louvre, during the Paris Commune. As the Communard situation deteriorated and they retreated, they resorted to setting fire to parts of Paris. The Versailles Government troops were merciless, when they caught anyone they suspected of being a Communard they were summarily shot.
