Engraving depicting the execution of a Sudanese mutineer at Mazamboni's, near Albert Nyanza, Central Africa, April 1889. Sir Henry Morton Stanley's expedition to relieve Emin Pasha, the Governor of the Egyptian Equatorial Province, had begun it's retreat to Bagamoyo on the Indian Ocean, when a mutiny took place among the Emin Pasha's troops. The leader of the mutineers, an ex-slave called Rehan, is shown in the image just prior to his execution.
