Page from The Bystander featuring five of the society women wearing their costumes for the Railway Ball to be held at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in aid of the Kensington, Fulham and Chelsea Hospital on 11 December 1930. The pageant was titled, "Famous Trains". Outfits featured centre is Miss Betty Hulton as Cannes. Then, clockwise from top left, Mrs A. G. McCorquodale, producer and designer of the pageant as St. Moritz, Mrs John Russell as The Blue Train, Princess George Imeritinsky as The Golden Arrow and Lady Lindsay Hogg typifying The Engandine Express.
