Quite brilliant fancy dress costume on the pun of 'Kitchener's great' with a man dressed as a kitchen range or stove, with the words 'Kitchener's grate' written across the front - a reference to military commander, Lord Kitchener. Worn by Mr Stanford at the Covent Garden Fancy Dress Ball.
