Fire at Naworth Castle - possessions from the house saved from the flames and stacked in the courtyard. The fire destroyed virtually all of the Castle, including the old dungeons in the West Wing. Only the top rooms of Lord WilliamÆs Tower, (his bedchamber, private library and chapel) survived.~~
