The original Bikini Atoll target: the fleet of more than 70 warships at anchor in the lagoon awaiting their fate. The fleet included famous American and ex-enemy warships, most of which, with the bull's eye battleship Nevada, remained afloat after the atom bomb explosion on 30 June.
