Florence Cook (c.1856-1904) was an English medium who claimed to materialise a spirit named Katie King. This photograph, taken during a seance at the house of William Crookes, shows Cook lying with her head on the seat of a chair, in a trance, with the spirit of Katie King hovering behind her.
