Florence Nightingale climbing the Castle Heights, on horseback, to inspect the 12 hospital huts at Balaklava,during the Crimean War, 1855. These twelve huts had beds for 800 injured men. Nightingale took with her 3 nurses, 2 clergymen and several army officers.
