Description | Flying success and disaster by G. H. Davis |
Details |
The world of flight: a week of great achievement and of sad disaster. How the aviator, Garros, flew from Tunis to Rome via Sicily, a distance of 687 miles. On landing at Rome, the monoplane stood on its head (photo), but the pilot was unhurt. Less fortunate was Lieutenant Parke, whose plane crashed on Wembley Golf Course due to wind currents.
