Description Frame work of the viaduct
Details

Frame work of Coopers Bridge, near Greenwich. The designers, Mr Grissell and Mr Petolent lent inspiration from similar American structures. The main body of the viaduct is constructed from timber, which was treated with anti dry rot, pateneted by Payne's. The viaduct was opened for use on the 8th May 1844.
