Gaby Deslys (1881-1920), French actress, singer and dancer, pictured wearing a costume designed by the artist Drian and realised by the fashion couturier Paquin for the new revue, 'A la Carte in Two Cafes and a Street.' Gaby was as renowned for her lavish stage costumes as she was for her stage performance. The photographs were published in the same issue as photographs of ex-King Manuel of Portugal and his bride-to-be Princess Augusta (Augustine) Victoria of Hohenzollern. Gaby had been romantically linked to the King.
