The British bred, thoroughbred racehorse 'Gainsborough', owned by Lady James Douglas won the English Triple Crown in 1918. This article celebrates the 2000 Guineas, the first of the three races one by Gainsborough. This win also marked the first time a horse bred by a woman won one of the British Classic Races.
