A scene at Mr Bernhard Barron's garden party which he gave at Hove to wounded soldiers in July 1915. Several hundred of convalescent men who were recuperating in Brighton, including Indian soldiers - mainly Sikhs and Gurkhas - were entertained. Mr Barron, owner of the Carreras Tobacco Company had generously given upwards of three million of the famous 'Black Cat' cigarettes to soldiers at the front.
