Brigadier General Reginald Edward Harry Dyer with his wife and son going to the House of Lords. General Dyer was held accountable for the Amritsar Massacre at Jallianwallah Bagh in the Punjab region of India in April 1919. Considered "the Butcher of Amritsar", Dyer was removed from duty; he was criticised both in Britain and India, but he became a celebrated hero among people with connections to the British Raj.
