George V (1865 - 1936), second son of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. He became heir to the throne after the death of his elder brother, Albert Victor. He reigned through a turbulent time in British history and strengthened the image of the Royal family through his work during World War I. He died in 1936, one year after his Silver Jubilee.
