Geraldine Hedges, Chief Transport Officer in charge of the motor column for the Elsie Inglis unit of the Scottish Women's Hospital in the Balkans during the First World War. She had previously seen service on the Russo-Romanian front, and was forced to leave her post in Serbia due to repeated attacks of malaria.
